A Place to Live and a Goodbye
I've found a place to live in Edinburgh! I'll be living with four other young people in the neighborhood of Leith, northeast of the City Centre. My room is rather small and the house smells like cigarettes but I wanted to live with people my own age. On the bright side there are no less than three couches in the very large common room and plenty of space for people to crash when they visit. And in a month two more of the people move out, so I think I'll jump into one of their rooms. The girl whose room I'm taking is moving only a few minutes away and works in a gay nightclub in the City Centre. She offered to help me get a second job there. What a trip that would be! I'm tempted to do it for the thrill of working in a club without the threat of sexual harrassment.
Justin left for Los Angeles this morning. We haven't spent more than a week apart in the last year and half. In thirteen days I'll meet up with him in Finland and then we'll go to St. Petersburg, Russia together. He came with me to look at the flat and was able to meet some of the people I'll be hanging out with, so that was comforting - knowing that Justin will know where I'm sleeping.
After I walked off Justin's London-bound train at Waverly Station I wandered to my new house to sign a lease and took a few busses. It seems I've maintained my sense of direction, even in the UK.
And my sense of humor.
And I'll be living in a beautiful place for the next three months - so I certainly can't feel sorry for myself.
Love to you all!
