About Merci
I’m a game designer, writer, art director, and social media consultant. Until mid- November 2009 I was a co-founder and board member of GameLayers, Inc., a small networked games studio.
At GameLayers my title was Chief Creative Officer/Lead Game Designer. In this role I created the game dynamics of PMOG/The Nethernet, an innovative MMO in a Firefox toolbar that was nominated for MMO of the Year in 2008 by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. I designed a social RPG engine for the Facebook platform.
I have hired and managed web and interaction designers as well as freelance artists to deliver on-time, under-budget assets. I’ve led the look-and-feel for GameLayers products.
My skills include: Developing game concepts including specific game dynamics and visual design; creating flow charts and diagrams to communicate game designs; paper prototyping game designs; playtesting; creating wire frames and mockups of game HUDs and web sites; vetting, hiring and managing artists; game branding; content creation. Concept creation; world creation; art direction. Strategic corporate management.
